Empa
The Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa – German: Eidgenössische Materialprüfungs- und Forschungsanstalt) is a Swiss research institution for application-oriented materials science and technology.
Education and further training, or more generally knowledge transfer, is one of Empa’s central tasks. Although educating students – from internships during their studies and Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis projects all the way to dissertations –, apprentices and scientists takes center stage, further training for experts and professionals from the private sector is also a priority, for instance through the diverse range of courses offered by the Empa Academy.
