HR Leaders Network

HR Leaders Network

The HR Leaders Network is a community that collaboratively shapes the future workforce of Switzerland. HR Leaders and experts of digitalswitzerland members from business, academia and the public sector exchange on topics equally relevant to all players and lead joint projects on priority topics, including diversity, reskilling and paths for career changers, learning culture and the future of work.

Why

As part of our efforts in the field of Education, Professionals and Diversity, we aim to impact the Swiss learning culture and continuously upskill and reskill the existing workforce. This is in order to create a Switzerland where every individual can successfully contribute to our increasingly digital economy.

Switzerland faces multiple challenges in regards to the development of the workforce in general and in the ICT sector in particular. To highlight a few:

  1. ICT skill shortage prognosis for 2030: over 38 000 people
  2. Lack of gender and age diversity:  Only 18% of the ICT workforce are women. With 61.1 years, the average age of the 58-70 year-old cohort in ICT is low
  3. Strong need to strengthen and widen learning paths: ⅔ of the ICT-workforce are career changers; 80% come from the vocational path
  4. The lifelong learning gap is widening. Factors are education (self-selection) and age (tipping point 35)

digitalswitzerland network of HR Leaders and experts

For all these challenges, the HR Managers of our member organisations play a central role and hold a ‘multiplier function’ being jointly responsible for over half a million people in the Swiss workforce. The digitalswitzerland network of HR Leaders and experts equips the Swiss workforce with the skills and competences to shape the digital economy and the future of work. HR leaders of digitalswitzerland members will have focused and transversal exchange on topics including Gender and age diversity; apprenticeships, reskilling and paths for career changers as well as digital mindset and learning cultures.
